Traditions Associated With Christmas
Tradition 1: White elephant is a game where every person brings a gift and puts it in a pile to pick from. The order on who picks first is different with every family but people usually draw numbers out of a hat. Once the order is picked then you are able to pick a gift. If you like your gift then you can keep it and if your not a fan of it you can then swap with someone. But every gift is only allowed to be swap with three times so always be aware of what presents are good to take.
Tradition 2: Finding the pickle in a tree is a fun game usually played on Christmas day. The idea of this game is whoever in the family finds the pickle first in the Christmas tree is able to open their presents first. This game is always played by the children in the family because the parents are the ones that pick the spot to hide it.
Traditional Food
The traditional Chritmas food can be similar to what you have on Thanksgiving. The most common foods seen at Christmas dinner in America are turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and cooked vegetables. In other parts of the world people eat tamales, roast goose with red cabbage, crawfish jambalaya, roast pork and seafood salad. The most common desserts are pumpkin or apple pie, fruit cake, Christmas pudding, and raisin pudding.
